Top Follow is an Android app that swaps Instagram activity between its users. You spend time following, liking and commenting on other people's accounts to earn coins, then spend those coins so other Top Follow users follow, like or comment on yours. It isn't on Google Play, so it's installed as an APK file from the developer's website.
This page is the overview. If you only want the file, go to the download page. If you want to know whether it can get your account in trouble, read the safety check first. That matters more than which version you install.
Top Follow 8.4.6 is a genuine, correctly signed build from its developer, NivaRoid. It asks for only 8 ordinary permissions and nothing like contacts, SMS, location or storage. The app itself looks clean. The risk is to your Instagram account, because Instagram doesn't allow artificially collected followers and likes. Use a secondary account, stay under the action limits, and never sign in with an account you can't afford to lose.
01What is Top Follow?
Top Follow is a follower-exchange app made by NivaRoid, a small Android developer that also makes Niva Follower, Jet Follower and TikFollowers. Its package name is com.nivaroid.topfollow, and the developer's website is topfollow-apk.org.
The developer describes it as a way to get Instagram followers, likes, comments and story views, plus Threads followers, without paying. That description is accurate, but two points get left out:
- It doesn't create followers. Every follow you receive is another Top Follow user tapping "follow" to earn their own coins. That's why delivery is fast, and it's also why many of those followers never interact with your posts.
- You pay with activity, not money. The coins come from actions your own Instagram accounts perform. That activity is exactly what Instagram's spam systems watch for.
If you understand that trade-off, Top Follow does what it promises. If you expect "real fans" who will watch your Reels, you'll probably be disappointed.
02What we found inside the 8.4.6 file
We downloaded TopFollow_v846-Release.apk from the link on the developer's website on 15 September 2026. We didn't install or run it. We read the file itself: its manifest (the part that declares requirements and permissions), its code libraries, and its signing certificate.

03How Top Follow works
Everything runs on one loop. The diagram shows it; the steps below explain each part.
- Sign in with a secondary Instagram account
The app opens Instagram's own login page. The developer's own instructions say to use a spare account here, not your main one.
- Collect coins with tasks
In the Tasks section you pick an action type and press Start. Your account follows or likes posts from other users' orders, and each completed action earns coins. An auto bot can keep collecting in the background, which is what the app's foreground-service permission is for.
- Place an order for any username
Type the username you want to grow (it doesn't have to be the account that earned the coins), choose followers, or pick a post for likes and comments, and pay with coins or gems.
- Other users complete it
Your order goes into the task list other Top Follow users see. Progress shows under History, which you open from the gear icon.

05Requirements before you download
- Android 7.0 or newer. Check under Settings › About phone › Android version.
- A 64-bit phone (most phones made in the last several years). Very cheap or Android Go phones running a 32-bit system get "App not installed" with the latest version, but the older 8.3.9 beta still supports them.
- About 30 MB of free space. The download is 9.2 MB, and the installed app plus its data takes more.
- Permission to install unknown apps for the browser or file manager you open the APK with.
- A spare Instagram account with a profile photo, bio and a few posts. The developer says bare new accounts get restricted fastest.

06Install Top Follow in five steps
- Open our download page
Go to the download page and check the version and size before you tap the button. The file comes directly from the developer's server.
- Accept the browser warning
Chrome warns about every APK ("This type of file can harm your device"). This isn't a virus alert; it appears for all files from outside Google Play. Tap Download anyway.
- Allow installs from that app
Open the file. Android asks you to allow "Install unknown apps" for Chrome or Files. Allow it, then turn it back off afterwards if you want.
- Install, and read any Play Protect message
Play Protect may call it "unrecognised" or ask to scan it. That's normal for apps outside the Play Store.
- Open and sign in with your spare account
Then follow the first-use walkthrough.
If you installed a "mod" or a copy from an APK mirror, uninstall it first. A file signed by someone else can't be installed over, so Android shows "App not installed" until the old one is gone.

08Is Top Follow safe?
There are two separate questions here, and most sites answer only the easy one.
Is the app file safe? For 8.4.6, we found no red flags. The signature is the developer's, the hash is stable, and the permissions fit what the app does: internet access, notifications, and keeping the auto bot running. It doesn't ask for contacts, messages, location, camera, microphone or files.
Is your Instagram account safe? Not fully. Instagram's Community Guidelines tell users not to artificially collect likes, followers or shares, and it detects accounts doing bursts of follow and like actions. The usual results are temporary "Try again later" action blocks, followers being removed, and in repeated cases a disabled account. That's why the app itself tells you to sign in with a fake account and to stay under 100 actions an hour.
Don't sign in with your main, business or creator account, or any account that's linked to ad payments or Meta Verified. Don't install versions promising "unlimited coins". Coins are counted on the developer's server, so those files can't deliver, and some of them exist only to capture Instagram logins. Why the mod APK is a trap.

09Why other sites give different numbers
If you've compared a few Top Follow sites, you've probably seen conflicting facts: "Android 5.0+", sizes from 8 MB to 25 MB, versions like 8.0.2 or 8.30, and download counts in the tens of millions. Here's why:
- Copied app-info tables. The minimum Android version is written into the file. For 8.4.6 it's Android 7.0, not 5.0.
- Old or repacked files. Sizes change between builds. The developer's 8.3.4 beta, for example, was 22 MB, while every build since 8.3.8 is 8.5–10.4 MB. A 22 MB file labelled "latest" is an old build at best, and a size that matches no official build at all points to a repacked copy.
- Made-up download counts. The app isn't on Google Play, so no public install count exists. Treat any "50,000,000+ downloads" figure as invented.
- Different apps with similar names. Several unrelated Play Store and Uptodown listings are called "TopFollow" (hashtag tools, for example). The package

10Our verdict
Top Follow is one of the better-built apps of its type: small, regularly updated, and honest about needing a fake account. It works well for a quick boost in follower count on a new or secondary profile, for example to get past the "zero followers" stage. It isn't a growth strategy for an account you care about. What is the latest version of Top Follow?

Is Top Follow free?
Yes. You don't pay money for orders. You earn coins by doing tasks with your own Instagram accounts and spend them on followers, likes, comments or story views.
Is Top Follow on the Google Play Store?
No. Top Follow is distributed only as an APK file from the developer's website. Play Store apps with similar names, such as hashtag tools called "TopFollow", are different products.
What Android version does Top Follow need?
Android 7.0 (API level 24) or newer. This is written into the APK file itself. The "Android 5.0+" repeated on many sites is wrong for current versions.
Why do I get "App not installed"?
Usually for one of three reasons: your phone is older than Android 7.0, it runs a 32-bit ARM system that the app doesn't support, or a different-signed copy (such as a mod) is already installed. Uninstall the old copy first. More fixes are in our troubleshooting guide.
Are Top Follow followers real?
They're real Instagram accounts belonging to other Top Follow users, not bots. But they follow you to earn coins, not because they like your content, so few of them will like or watch your posts, and some unfollow later.
Can Top Follow get my Instagram account banned?
It can. Instagram doesn't allow artificially collected followers and likes. The most common result is a temporary action block on the account doing the tasks, but repeated abuse can lead to restrictions or a disabled account. Use a secondary account and follow the limits in our safety check.
Does Top Follow see my Instagram password?
The developer says sign-in happens through Instagram's own login page and that they have no access to your password. We can't independently confirm how any app handles the logged-in session afterwards, which is one more reason to use an account you can afford to lose.
Is there a Top Follow mod APK with unlimited coins?
Not one that works. Coin balances are held on the developer's server, so an edited app can only change the number shown on your screen. Mod files also can't carry the developer's signature, and some are built to steal Instagram logins. Read more.
